Should I import all countries or only target regions?

Import only countries your marketplace serves. Smaller location datasets reduce database size and speed up backups.

How do I import a geolocation SQL file?

Download a country pack, then use Tools > Import SQL data in oc-admin, or replace the table prefix and run the SQL in your database tool.

Can I keep custom cities after updates?

Yes, but document custom rows before re-imports. A full package import can overwrite or duplicate manual additions if you are not careful.

Why are structured locations better than free text?

Structured country/region/city fields keep filters consistent and reduce thin or duplicate location pages caused by free-text city names.
